GUEST SPEAKER: Rev. Warren Leibovitch

Warren was born in Montréal, Québec. He has three sisters all whom live in the Toronto area with their families. He is married with three teenaged boys, and lives in the Lindsay area.

Warren brings to his parish ministry the richness of a Jewish upbringing. Having experienced the Jewish holidays and customs, he shares his personal experiences and understandings in his preaching, as well as having led workshops on Jewish festivals for the Episcopal Area of Trent-Durham, and runs annual Passover Seder meals in his parish of St. Paul’s, Lindsay.

Warren was baptized into the Anglican Church in 1980 after walking a journey of discovery and spiritual growth which began several years before. His joy in the Lord was further enhanced through his years of involvement in COR, a youth version of Cursillo.

Warren was ordained Deacon in 1991 in the Diocese of Toronto and Priested the following year. His training and ministry experiences include hospital chaplaincy in Toronto as well as working at the Penetanguishene Mental Health Centre in the psychiatric Regional Division and the former Oak Ridge forensic units. He has worked in parishes in Toronto and Barrie, ON, and has been the Incumbent of St. Paul’s Lindsay since 2008.

Continuing professional development has included attending seminars and workshops for Fresh Expressions ministries and congregational development in Toronto, Florida and Virginia. He is currently in his last year of a Doctor of Ministry at the Virginia Theological Seminary studying Intergenerational Faith Formation and the use of digital technologies and social media in growing communities of faith. Warren’s hobbies include woodworking and astronomy. He also enjoys reading, listening to a variety of music, gardening, fishing and spending time with his family and taking long walks with his wife Annette and puppy.
